what we do

CONSERVATION COLLABORATION

We believe that the science of saving wildlife populations starts with community.

We are reducing human-wildlife conflict in Botswana, by focusing equally on wildlife research and community needs.

Lion Conservation

Lion populations were under attack and decreasing rapidly, in 2013. With our work, this is changing. We work to better understand, and protect, local lion populations in Botswana, with innovative science and by grounding work in local communities.

Communal Herding

Our local communities said they need help with herding cattle. We now support hundreds of cattle in several herds in Botswana. CLAWS began Communal Herding by supporting cattle health and safety—in exchange for participating farmers agreeing not to kill local predators.
